Mirasol Phullu - 109 Amethyst

42% Baby Alpaca, 42% Extrafine Merino Wool, 16% Polyamide (Nylon)

Spun in Peru, PHULLU is the Quechuan word for “soft hair or down.” Baby alpaca and fine merino wool combine to create a down-like worsted-weight yarn that will prove difficult not to fondle. Light yet airy, this yarn will fool you; it is also super warm and will create cuddly-soft sweaters, shawls and accessories.

Mirasol's label drescribes Phullu as designed to be knit to a tension of 16-20 stitches to 10cm/4" on needle sizes 4.50mm / US7 - 5.50mm / US9, which would make this a #4 Worsted weight. In our opinion Phullu is closer to a chunky weight yarn in thickness, and could comfortably knit or crochet on 6.00mm - 6.50mm.

Approximately 250m / 273yds per 100g / 3.5oz - this yardage would be typical for a DK weight yarn, but the unique construction of Phullu makes it "ultralight" - you get more yardage than you normally would for a worsted weight!

Recommended to hand wash and lay flat to dry.
