Alfa is a yarn that is no longer being manufactured, it is a chunky weight comparable to Fritidsgarn (Alfa was 59m/65yds per 50g ball, Fritidsgarn is 70m per 50g ball), but you can substitute any chunky that easily works to 13-14st per 4" on a 6.00-7.00mm needle.
