These interchangeable cables are designed to work with ChiaoGoo interchangeable tips - they have a [S] (Small) gauge join, so work with any ChiaoGoo [S] gauge tip - or, join a small-to-large tip adapter to have them work with larger tips.
The length describes just the length of the cord, it does not include the length of the tips you will be adding to them. Please keep in mind that if your two tips are longer than the length of the cable, the circular needle will not curve comfortably into a circle for knitting.
The 2"/5cm length comes in a three-pack as it is most commonly used to make flexible DPNs.
